Thanksgiving Fun

We had my family over for Thanksgiving fun. It was good weather for the most part. We went shopping, cooked, ate and crafted. It was a great break from the stresses of work.

P and I also went and saw the new Muppet movie. He has every Muppet movie ever made, as well as many of the Pez dispensers, figurines, plush characters and posters. He has been a lover of the Muppets for years. It was a cute movie. Kind of corny, but that is what it is supposed to be. We watched to come home and watch some of the original Muppet Shows. No worries - we have them all too. We don't go see movies often, so it was fun.

October Update

Stretching after the race. No J didn't run, he rode, but still needed to stretch.

This is our 3rd Race. I ran a 5K and P ran a 10K. He did a great job too.Everyone went to the football game but J and I. We played in leaves and just had fun.

We went to a local place that had a ropes course. I was nervous to begin with but it ended up being really fun.

My Halloween Costume.

We went to a Pumpkin Carving Show. It was a contest that you could enter your carved pumpkin. There were prizes, and games and fun. We didn't enter a pumpkin but we had
fun looking at the many people who did!

My in-laws left for their mission. It sounds like they are really liking where they are at.

Treats. Treats, Treats

Just a few of the things I have been cooking up.

Mater cake for my nephews birthday. This is my first attempt at homemade fondant, and first attempt at a 3D cake. I am no artist, but it was recognizable by the birthday boy, so that is all that matters.

Homemade butterfinger candies. The recipe is floating all over the internet. Super easy - only 3 ingredients. It is ok, but the real deal is better.

Chicken Verde Loaf. It wasn't too bad.

Mini pizza bites. Made like a cinnamon roll but with pizza ingredients. These were really good.
Since it is rainy outside, I want something with cinnamon and apples or pumpkin. Hum... I am off to see what I can find!

Crayon Cozy

I have seen these around church. Decided to try one out. A crayon cozy to keep crayons from getting all over. I really like how it turned out.

A Month, Really?

Ok, I kind of understand it has been so long. School started again, and I am too tired to do anything. But I do have a couple of highlights from weeks past that might be fun. Probably not for you, but whatever.
We had birthday dinner that was really delish, shish kabobs with blackberry cobbler.

I made peanut butter bars for my brother in laws birthday. They were really yummy.

We also went to the State Fair. We had a good time.

J holding the extra large bag of popcorn. He loved looking at the animals - from a distance.

We went and saw the healing field. It was really neat.

I am taking photography lessons, so here are the three homework pictures I am submitting from this week. It is so much fun!

School Days...

We are officially back in to school. One week down, many to go.
I made these little apples for a couple of some teacher friends. I love how they turned out (even though the pictures aren't the greatest!)

THE "Y"

We hiked to the "Y" on the mountain this week. It isn't a very far hike, just .81 miles, but man it is steep!!! It took longer to get down than it did to get up. A beautiful view of the city. Took tons of pictures trying all different settings. Too bad I can't remember what they were! Anyway, we had a fun time!

The trail map.

From the top.

From the top - again.

City lights turning on.

The white in the corner is the "Y" you can see the Provo Temple in the mid right.

Provo Temple.

One of "his favorite places to be..." the football stadium!

Tuachan

We spent the last couple of days down south. Went to these two plays. They were fantastic!!! Had a good time at the shows, shopping, eating and hiking.

We got a giant rock in our windshield one of the days. So, we had to take it in and get it fixed, before it split anymore. It was as big as a silver dollar. Luckily, we got it taken care of really quickly. Other than this, we had a great time!!
